LifeCare Ambulance exclusively utilizes Michigan Licensed Paramedics and EMT's for full-time and part-time field positions. LifeCare also utilizes full time personnel for dispatch positions and full- and part-time wheelchair van positions.

LifeCare Ambulance Service offers yearly wage STEP INCREASES through 8 steps. Experienced personnel may be offered higher wages than the beginning step based on the length of their experience. Personnel who have reached the top step receive a LONGEVITY BONUS. We also reward our LEVEL III Paramedics with higher wages. Full Time Paramedics also can earn a MERIT BONUS of up to $1800 for exceptional performance.

LifeCare Ambulance Service offers Paid Time Off (PTO) as a single bank of time for time off from work. Personnel accrue PTO based on their longevity and shift pattern. PTO can be utilized for vacation, personal, sick, or educational uses. New employees start to accrue time off after 30 days of employment and may take over 3 WEEKS OF PTO OFF DURING THE FIRST YEAR OF EMPLOYMENT. Additionally, LifeCare Ambulance Service offers employees 6 holidays (New Years Day, Memorial Day, 4th of July, Labor Day, Thanksgiving, and Christmas) of DOUBLE TIME pay for those employees working on the holiday. We also offer BEREVEMENT PAY outside the PTO bank for the death of immediate family members.

LifeCare Ambulance Service now offers a FULL CAFETERIA BENEFIT PLAN. The plan is designed to give flexibility to employees so individual needs can be satisfied. We offer multiple HEALTH INSURANCE plans, DENTAL, LIFE, and SHORT & LONG TERM DISABILITY insurance. Dependant coverage is available. The employee chooses the best use for their individual and family needs. Additionally, LifeCare Ambulance Service offers MEDICAL REIMBURSEMENT & DEPENDANT CARE REIMBURSEMENT plans. Employees are also offered the opportunity to SELL PTO hours to help with additional benefit costs should there be a need.

LifeCare Ambulance Service employees also enjoy EMPLOYER CONTRIBUTIONS to their 403-B RETIREMENT PROGRAM. LifeCare Ambulance Service provides a yearly contribution equal to 3% of your scheduled yearly wage in addition to partial matching up to 25% of the employees first 6% participation in the tax sheltered annuity (TSA). Full time employees fully vest in the program at 3 years. Employees direct investment strategies based on their own comfort levels. Our TSA representative (Principal) will assist you, should you request, on long-term investment strategies.

LifeCare Ambulance Service pays for all required Paramedic CERTIFICATIONS such as ACLS, PHTLS or BTLS, and PALS. Additionally, eligible employees are now being offered paid University of Maryland-Baltimore County (UMBC), Critical Care Paramedic (CCP) course. This course is the basis of our developing Critical Care Transport program. Additionally, full time employees accrue an EDUCATION FUND to utilize for additional educational opportunities.

LifeCare Ambulance Service also supplies employees UNIFORMS and a UNIFORM FUND for full-time employees that will purchase an additional 3 uniforms during each year of employment. Employees are also given access to our Employee Assistance Program (EAP) for themselves and their immediate family members.
